If you software is not receiving data from the digitizer, there are two things to consider:

1. The digitizer is not working properly
2. The software installation has become corrupted.

Dealing with the digitizer

1. If you have a USB-connected digitizer, simply disconnect the USB cable from your computer. Wait 30 seconds or so, then plug the digitizer back in. Your computer should give you some kind of indication that you have connected a "USB Device". If you do not get this indicator, you may have a digitizer hardware issue. If you suspect you have a problem with your hardware, call GTCO technical support at 410-312-9221. They can run some diagnostics that will tell you if the board is functioning properly or not.

2. If the board is not functioning correctly, please call us and order a new digitizer. If it is functioning correctly, move on to step 3.

3. In order for the digitizer to work with your computer. You must install GTCO's TabletWorks drivers and configure them correctly. Assuming everything's been working fine, and it just stopped, double check your TabletWorks settings. First, make sure your digitizer is appearing in the list of devices. Then, WINTAB and MOUSE must be unchecked and TABCON must be checked. If your settings don't match, fix them and check your software.

4. If these steps are all correct, and your software is still not working, then move onto the next section.

Dealing with the software

1. Over the life of your software, it is possible that the software itself may become corrupted. Removing and re-installing your software will fix the problem 99% of the time.

2. Simply use the "remove software" feature of your version of Windows (XP or 7) to remove the software. Then reinstall. Use the activation code you received when you purchased the software to re-activate.

3. If you have moved the software to another computer, you will need to contact support.decdigital.com to request another activation code. Old codes will not work, since they are matched to a specific computer, not your company.
