Deleting Corrupted Application Data Files on a Vista-Based Computer |

Vista saves application data files in a different location than XP. To remove corrupted application data files, do the following:
![]() First, Open the Control Panel and select "Classic View" ![]() Once opened, select "Folder Options" ![]() Select the "View" tab towards the top of the dialog box. ![]() Select the radio button that says "Show hidden files and folders" ![]() Once that has been selected, you can press the "OK" button at the bottom of the dialog box. Then you can close the Control Panel. Next, select "Computer" from your main menu... ![]() Double click on Local Disk C: ![]() Double-click the folder entitled "Users" ![]() Double-click the folder that has your name ![]() Double-click the folder entitled "AppData" ![]() Double-click the folder entitled "Local" ![]() Double-click the folder entitled "VirtualStore" ![]() Double-click the folder entitled "Program Files" ![]() Double-click the folder entitled "decDigital" ![]() Double-click the folder entitled "Elite Takeoff" ![]() Select the following files:
![]() To delete, you can drag the files into the Recycle bin, press the "delete" key, or right click and choose "delete" from the pop-up menu. Once this is complete, you should go back to the control panel and hide the "hidden files" again. Simply reverse the first steps of this tutorial. |
